On Tuesday, July 29, 2025, the MCA Department of Dr. J. J. Magdum College of Engineering, Jaysingpur, organized a guest lecture titled “Code Bridge: From Classroom to Codebase” under the Student Association. The session was delivered by Mr. Kumar Patil, Senior Engineer Lead at Persistent Systems, Pune. The lecture aimed to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practices by offering students valuable insights into real-world software development, professional coding standards, and career preparedness.

On 16th July 2025, MCA department organized an expert lecture on the topic “Project Orientation.” The session was conducted by      Mr. R. S. Parkhe, a faculty member from our own MCA department. He delivered an excellent introduction to the concept of projects, explaining the topic in a clear and effective manner. The expert lecture was successfully conducted and proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the students.

On 28th April 2025, an MOU was formally signed between Walstar Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and the MCA Department to strengthen industry-academia collaboration. This MOU focuses on:
• Providing internship and placement opportunities to MCA students.
• Facilitating industry-based projects and case studies.
• Organizing expert sessions, technical workshops, and industrial training.
• Supporting curriculum enhancement based on industry trends.

An industrial visit was conducted to Sunbeam Institute of Information Technology, Karad, on 18th April 2025 for MCA faculty.
The objective was to understand training practices and explore collaboration opportunities.
A key outcome was the establishment of an MoU with the MCA Department of Dr. J. J. Magdum College of Engineering, Jaysingpur.
The MoU includes provisions for internships, training programs, seminars, and faculty development.
This collaboration aims to enhance academic and industry linkage for the MCA department.

At Dr. J J Magdum College of Engineering Jaysingpur ,Master of Computer Application department under the MCASA , Sankalp 2k25 technical and non-technical event( Dark code,hackhub, box cricket,free fire ) was successfully conducted on 5th April 2025 to engage students and enhance their skills in both areas. Principal Sir graced the occasion as the Guest of Honor, inspiring students to strive for excellence. These events foster technical skills, creativity and personal growth.

The expert lecture was delivered by Mr. Shreyes Pol, a Software Developer at Securentity, Pune. He holds a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree and is a proud alumnus of Dr. J. J. Magdum College, Jaysingpur. The session was aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of the participants in the field of Cyber Security.

The MCA Department had an industry visit to Walstar Technologies Pvt. Ltd Kolhapur on 22/02/2025. The students had a very good interaction with the representatives of the company.
Students were made aware of the working culture of industry and also the challenges and opportunities looming in future.

Augmentation Workshop Building Digital Solution from Web Hosting to an App Conversion 24-25

A 5-day Value Added Program on “Python with Data Analytics” was conducted from 18th July to 22nd July 2024. The resource person for the program was Mrs. Vinayshree Akkalkot from Domain Computer Education, Sangli. The program aimed to enhance students’ programming and analytical skills through hands-on sessions. The sessions were highly interactive and provided practical exposure to real-world data analytics applications. The program was well-received and proved to be insightful and beneficial for all participants.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2024, our students had the opportunity to visit T-Cognition Software Company, located in Kolhapur. The industrial visit was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the workings of a professional IT environment. During the visit, the students were introduced to the company’s organizational structure, various software development processes, and current technologies in use. The company representatives also conducted an interactive session where students learned about real-world project execution, client handling, and career opportunities in the software industry. The visit proved to be highly educational and motivating, giving students a deeper insight into industry expectations and work culture.
